Horse Fly Trap - experiment starting 17 Aug 2024

This trap caught 75 greenhead horse flies the first week it was out. ---- Greenhead horse flies and the HUGE flies we call "B52 bomber flies" very seriously annoy the horses hereabouts. Fly Predators (very small parasitic wasps) do NOT touch them. The disposable fly traps we use to catch THOUSANDS of stable flies, face flies, and house flies do NOT catch the horse flies. So can we take principles used in greenhead fly traps made by a couple state DNR on the East Coast beach areas - add a target ball - and perhaps have a working horse fly trap???? That is the big question. So here is my first attempt. And yes the trap did catch a horse fly within the first two hours after installation. It remains an open question if it will or will not prove to be a good horse fly trap. (Update - the trap caught at least 18 more horse flies on 18 Aug 2024, the day after installation. So far none of those HUGE flies we call "B52 bomber flies" but here is hoping it may yet catch some of them as well as the regular horse flies.)

Remember to intentionally, on purpose, learn of God each day by prayerfully reading, studying, and pondering upon God's word each day. Talk to God in prayer as your Heavenly Father who would like for you to be His friend. Find out what He would like you to do for Him as His friend and go and do it for Him as His friend. Yes very intentionally, very much on purpose, become the friend of God. And have a blessed day!!
