Photo Edits 1

What am I don't wrong?
I can't seem to get the tone to match in both photos. I think I like the left more but I just don't know anymore.
Are they flat?
What can be improved?
What am I missing?
This is my first ever shoot (I didn't have obviously) and I didn't have the settings proper. I know the sky is blown out, I'm not worried about that, I just want these to be as good as possible. It was an overcast day that went from cloudy (right photo) to light rain (left photo). I know feet aren't supposed to be cut off but this kiddo was constantly moving so I shot the best I could.
