U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris revealed her first major economic plan as the Democratic nominee for president Friday, with a strong focus on consumers, addressing various key aspects of the economy.

The plan includes proposals such as a federal ban on price gouging on groceries, lowering the cost of insulin and prescription drugs, and addressing the national housing shortage by building 3 million new affordable homes.

"In addition, while we work on the housing shortage, my administration will provide first-time homebuyers with $25,000 to help with the down payment on a new home," Harris said.

She also emphasized her intent to provide tax relief to families, advocating for tax breaks and proposing an expansion of the child tax credit and earned income tax credit to cover lower-income individuals. "I'll not only restore that tax cut but expand it. We will provide $6,000 in tax relief to families during the first year of a child's life," she added.

Additionally, she plans to lower health insurance premiums through the Affordable Care Act.

"Donald Trump fights for billionaires and large corporations. I will fight to give money back to working and middle class Americans," Harris said.
