Anthony Duttle / He developed an early fascination and appreciation for the beauty of the world, growing up in the vast landscape of southern New Mexico. His interest in photography was driven both by his awe of the beauty the world presents and his next older brother shared his awe of the world. While Anthony chose to pursue Agricultural studies, he had some formal training in photography. This training focused on black and white, using all manual film equipment which emphasized the aspects of composition, focus, light manipulation and dark room techniques.
After college, a career path in agriculture and family activities commanded the majority of Anthony’s focus. While Anthony’s focus over the years had been on a career and family, his brother continued to develop his skills and passion for photography, sharing his work with his friends and on Social media. In 2014, he received a call that his brother had died unexpectedly. In going through his work to prepare for his memorial service, Anthony learned the depth of his brothers work and the extent that he had touched people with his vision of the world. His talent with the camera, his personality and passion was clear in the images. Seeing the beauty of his brothers vision through the photos he focused his brothers loss to that of his brother living through the images he left behind. The power of the images were a gift. Shortly after the memorial service, the revelation lead him to a camera shop
in Sydney, Australia where he had a weekend layover. He purchased his first full frame DSLR camera and committed to pick up where his brother left off in sharing his vision of the world. While using state of the Art equipment, Anthony’s technique is based on the fundamental concepts of photography which uses manual camera manipulation, lense selection, filters and timing. All the images presented are as they come out of the camera with no post shot editing. As his craft evolved, he began exploring beyond the spectrum of visible light. He found that these alternate light forms capture details and
features of our world that we don’t see, can be strikingly beautiful as well as having higher of resolution and clarity. While he works in color photography the evolution towards multi-spectrum photography has led a return to black and white.
