IDF uses Palestinian civilians as human shields, report claims; US urges probe | LiveNOW from FOX
Ceasefire talks resumed Thursday between Israel and Hamas in Doha, Qatar, as the Hamas terror group insisted it would not send a delegation to the negotiations.

In the meantime, the US called for an immediate investigation by Israel into allegations of Israeli soldiers with the IDF using Palestinian civilians as "guinea pigs" to test areas for any hidden explosives. The US State Department was questioned by a reporter about a report from Israeli newspaper Haaretz claiming Gaza civilians were being sent first into tunnels and buildings out of concern they could be booby-trapped.

A spokesperson for the State Department said "we would urge Israel to immediately and transparently investigate these allegations and hold any potential perpetrators accountable."

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not deny the allegations but said the conduct was "prohibited" and it would investigate any such claims.

The war in Gaza began on Oct. 7 when the Hamas terror group launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages. More than 100 hostages still remain in captivity.

Iran has said if a ceasefire is reached, it will not launch a major attack on Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
