Batman: Caped Crusader Gender-Swapped Penguin For the DUMBEST Reason!

A new Batman animated series dropped on Amazon Prime Video recently and it's already been memory holed. Produced by J.J. Abrams and written by Bruce Timm of Batman: The Animated Series fame, it should have been great, but it wasn't. The writing was on the wall the moment they revealed Oswalda Cobblepot, a gender-swapped version of the Penguin. Why did this happen? According to Timm, it's because Batman lacks "good villains."

Batman has the most legendary and robust rogue's gallery not just in comics, but in all media. It's a silly thing to say, but it's even more unhinged when it comes to one of the central creatives who has been in the DCAU for well over 30 years. Crazy.
