This titanic struggle of nations was raging within Rebekah. Edom verses Israel. It speaks of a battle that rages in each of us. Rebekah is symbolic of the church & within the church, within each member of the church, is a titanic struggle. The flesh (Esau) wars against the spirit (Jacob). For the flesh lusts against the Spirit & the Spirit against the flesh & these are contrary to one another.
