During combat operations, servicemen of the Osa-AKM air defense missile system (SAM) crew of the Center group of forces destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone, providing air cover for the positions of ground units from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdeevka direction of the military special operation (MSO) zone.

The Osa air defense unit's Osa SAM crew is on duty 24/7 in its area of ​​responsibility and performs air cover missions for the deployment locations of units, personnel, and equipment.

During combat operations, the crews destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces drones that conduct aerial reconnaissance of artillery positions and personnel locations. The specifics of the Osa SAM system's equipment make it possible to detect and destroy small-sized reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles of the enemy at a distance of more than 10 km.

"The Osa SAM system shows itself well in terms of working against small-sized aircraft such as the Furia and Leleka. It has never failed, there is a lot of work, and we only shot down four targets at night. There are many advantages: the range is up to 10 km, the crew training is quick and easy," said the Osa SAM crew chief with the call sign "Kolibri".

Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Osa air defense missile system units have been providing air cover for ground forces, preserving the lives of personnel and the combat readiness of motorized rifle, tank and artillery units.
