The Columbus Ohio Recreation & Parks Department took quick action to drain and then close Clintonville's Whetstone Casting Pond, because the invasive round gobies were seen in the pond shortly after July 4th. Round gobies can reproduce 6 times over a summer, and this pond can drain into the Scioto River. The pond will remain closed until it is certain no round gobies remain.
