Ukrainian soldier walks past dead enemy troops & says key Russian town captured…despite Putin claims
A Ukrainian soldier said in a video released on Monday (August 12) that Sudzha, a city in Russia's Kursk region, was not under Russian control and that they hadn't found Russian soldiers following a search of the city.

Reuters was able to confirm the location from the buildings characteristics, street layout and trees which match satellite, file and street view imagery. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date.

Kyiv is currently conducting its biggest incursion into sovereign Russian territory, in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian forces rammed through the Russian border last Tuesday (August 6) and swept across some Western parts of Russia's Kursk region, a surprise attack that may be aimed at gaining leverage in possible ceasefire talks after the U.S. election in November.
