Tina Peters, a former county clerk in Colorado, was convicted of election interference on Monday for breaching her county’s voting systems.

Peters was found guilty of four felonies after a trial where prosecutors argued that she stole a county employee’s security badge to allow a man to access voter systems in support of claims about the 2020 election being stolen.

Peters is the first local official convicted related to 2020 election, raising concerns about potential interference in future elections, The Hill has reported.
