Jesus said, "I am the Truth." Any truth that does not align with His Words, and deeds, the things that He said and did, is not really Truth. Truth is a man, and Jesus is that "God-Man." He is the litmus test for all truth.

The most important thing in life is to know your purpose. To know why you're here. To know the truth about your reason for existence. If Jesus is the Truth--and He is, then we're going to use His
Words of truth to answer that most important of all questions. Why am I here?

Reason Number 1: TO LOVE GOD

Reason Number 2: TO LOVE PEOPLE

There are actually 2 reasons why you are on the Earth today. The first reason has to do with you and God. The second one has to do with you and people.

Think of it this way: number 1 is vertical, or up-and-down. And Number 2 is horizontal, or side to side. Just like a cross. 1 beam points upward, and the other beam points outward.

It's that simple (that's important because one of our biggest issues is that we tend to complicate things when searching for an answer).

It is from these 2 basic truths, all of life is intended to flow. PERIOD! This is the starting point. Life is like building a house. If we bypass the most important part, which is the foundation upon which everything else is built, But it really doesn't matter what we do after that, as the building will eventually collapse.

So the first reason, Loving God, is relatively simple. Believing that our primary reason for our existence is to Love God is the st a ting point. Loving God is one hundred percent what Jesus said was our primary reason for existence. It may be difficult at first to come to the place where we truly and firmly believe that, and refuse to be moved away from it, but once we do believe it, and commit our entire life to Loving God with our whole being, everything else will shift. This has to do with motive. With the heart.

This heart/motive change will alter the reason we do everything, which helps align our action ever more perfectly to His will and not ours. From the heart
everything springs forth. Again, this speaks of motive. When our motives are aligned with our created purpose, which is to Love God, then our actions will naturally follow from this new right motive. There's a reason Jesus said Loving God was the first, and the most important thing. Because everything else is meant to flow out of it.

Matthew 22:37-40
NUMBER 1: "Jesus said to him, 'You shall Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the FIRST and great commandment."

NUMBER 2: "And the SECOND is like it: ‘You shall Love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these TWO commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

This second reason for being has to do with, believe it or not, being a "priest."

This is where so many people check out. For various reasons, they simply cannot acknowledge, or believe, the truth of what Jesus said about this. This is likely because, when we think about being a priest, we think about men in robes and collars who work in a church or temple somewhere. That is absolutely NOT what the Lord means by being a "priest." Jesus Himself is called a Great "High Priest" and therefore leads us by example into our individual priesthood. So its not how WE think it should be, but how HE thinks it should be. This requires a mindshift in the way we have always been thinking. And changing our mind about something We've always been taught, can be a difficult challenge.

The Bible talks about the priesthood of all believers. That means once you accept your God designed destiny to be a Lover of God (Reason # 1) then you can more readily accept your God designed destiny to be a blessing to others. You become a "priest" in God's eyes, and in the sense that you have done the vertical (up and down), and now you can do the horizontal (side to side). Again, not like a person in a robe and collar. That would be a vocational or professional or occupational priest. Someone who's 9 to 5 job it is to shepherd people. The priesthood Jesus is talking about applies to all people who follow Him.

I Peter 2:9 ~ "But YOU are a chosen generation, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light."

In other words, you can be a priest if you are a Mom or a Dad, if you're a carpenter or a plumber or an executive or a cop or a politician. You name it, your vocation really has nothing to do with your being a spiritual priest.

So allow me to give you a simple definition of what a priest is, and then we'll end this. A priest is someone who does 2 things. A priest:

1. Goes to God on behalf of man.

~ And ~

2. Goes to man on behalf of God.

(I realize that I'm speaking only in the masculine, and that is certainly not accurate, as you could replace man with human, male or female, and have it be a 100% accurate).

Every human being is meant to be a mediator on behapf of others. Just like Jesus is. He is "The" mediator betwewe n God and man, and we work as His Spirit filled representatives. We go to God through prayer on behalf of people, and we go to people on behalf of God.

But how specifically do we go to mankind on behalf of God? That is a little broader subject because it can involve many hundreds or even thousands of things. We are called to be a blessing. Just like Jimmy Evans said. God Loves us so much, that if we did not have a purpose here on the earth, He would take us home.

Sometimes we wear ourselves out trying to figure out what our "horizontal" purpose is, as life is constantly changing. But the most important thing is to remember, or I suppose to believe, is that no matter what my life situation has become, I do actually have a purpose for being here, and that purpose is to be a blessing to others.

I think from that place of simple & rock solid unwavering faith of "Yes, I am called to be blessing," we can begin to ask the Lord with sincerity hearts, "What am i supposed to do? How can i be a blessing to others?"

Then we follow through with whatever He shows us and puts upon our heart. It may be nothing more than just encouraging the people around you. Giving someone a "cup of cold water," which Jesus said we would not lose its reward.

Or maybe something a bit more complicated or intense, like going to the foreign field as a missionary. Or a 1000 other things in between. So it's fairly impossible to tell you exactly what that second horizontal priestly thing is. The thing you are specifically assigned to do in being a blessing to others. That can change many times in your life.

What is my current assignment? You might ask.That's something that you and the Lord we'll have to figure out. The purpose of this message is simply to say: Start with BELIEVING that your ultimate call & purpose is to Love God with all of your heart mind's soul and strength. Then, to actually BELIEVE that you are called to be a blessing. To Love to other people.

Once you've done the first, "Ive decided to Love God," then you can move on to the second, " I've decided to Love and be a blessing to others."

And you can now pray:

"Lord, since you've left me on this earth, and would rather have me there with You, I know that I have a purpose to bless others. Please show me how to do it, and give me Your strength to do it, and I'll do my best to do it with You. Jesus name Amen.

And remember it's a lifetime process. 😊♥️
