On August 11, 2024, Dimitri Lascaris stopped in Athens before travelling to Malta to join the next Boat to Gaza.

On that same date, an American oil tanker, the "Overseas Santorini", docked in the port of Piraeus, near Athens.

The tanker is en route to Israel and is carrying a large quantity of jet fuel for Israel's F-35s and F-16s.

Before arriving in Piraeus, the tanker was denied entry to the ports of Gibraltar and Spain. The governments of those EU states decided to heed the warnings of international lawyers that officials who cooperate with the vessel could be held criminally liable under international law.

Despite these warnings, and consistently with its multifaceted support for Israel's apartheid regime, the Greek government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis elected to receive the Overseas Santorini in Greek waters.

On August 12, 2024, Lascaris reported on these developments from the port of Piraeus.
