Salazar, who was 67, reportedly died peacefully in his sleep. His friend discovered him unresponsive on Sunday morning, and the news was later confirmed by Salazar’s representative, Ann Wingsong, to TMZ. As of now, the cause of death has not been determined.

Puente wrote, "Rest in peace Angel Salazar 'Chi Chi,' you were an amazing actor and good friend, hermano. From Scarface to Carlito’s Way, your characters and comedy will be forever missed."
