The Taj Mahal is counted among the 7 wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal is known as a monument of love and a grieving emperor's ode to his beloved deceased queen. Its name is believed to have been drawn from Persian: 'taj' meaning crown and 'mahal' meaning palace, thus making this the 'palace of the crown'. The central dome of the Taj Mahal is its most recognizable feature, rising to a height of about 73 meters. The Taj changes its color three times a day. The Taj Mahal seems pink in the morning and milky white in the evening and golden in the moonlight. It took 20 years and 20,000 workers to build. 1,000 elephants were used to transport the building materials. The Taj Mahal is made of white marble. 28 types of jewels were used. The minarets were built with a slight lean to create an optical illusion.
