Psalm 32 "Relax and Stay Clean, or Risk Opening Yourself to Attacks"

As we gather from all corners of the earth, it's important to recognize that each of us is in the midst of spiritual warfare. Some of you may be currently under attack by Satan, others may have just come out of a period of torment, and still others may soon find themselves in the thick of battle. This is the reality of living in a world where the enemy is constantly seeking to exploit our weaknesses.

Principle 1: The Devil Attacks Our Weakest Flank

The devil, like a cunning adversary, targets our weakest points. Just as the Ammonites attacked the elderly and children of Israel, the enemy seeks to strike us where we are most vulnerable. This could be through a non-believing spouse, a challenging co-worker, a friend who leads us astray, or even those in positions of authority like our bosses, the legal system, or government leaders. Just as Satan entered Judas, he can easily step into the lives of those around us if we are not vigilant. This is why it is crucial that we remain spotless, blameless, and free from sin so that our prayers to Yahuah are not hindered.

Principle 2: Direct Attacks on Our Weakest Points

In addition to attacking through others, Satan also targets us directly at our weakest points. This could be an old addiction, a lustful thought, a temptation to bribe or steal, or any other sin that pulls us away from Yahuah's instructions. The devil knows where we are most likely to stumble and he will exploit those areas relentlessly. It is in these moments that we must be especially diligent in seeking Yahuah's protection and guidance.

Psalm 32: A Message of Forgiveness and Protection

With these principles in mind, let's turn to Psalm 32, a powerful reminder of the blessing that comes from being forgiven by Yahuah and the protection He offers to those who repent and trust in Him:

"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man to whom Yahuah imparts no lawlessness,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones became old through my groaning all the day.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah!
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my lawlessness I did not hide.
I have said, 'I admit my offenses to Yahuah,'
And You forgave the lawlessness of my sin. Selah!
Therefore, let every kind one pray to You
While You might be found;
Even in a flood of great mayim they would not reach him.
You are my hiding place;
You preserve me from distress;
You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah!
Let Me instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
Let Me counsel, My eye be on you.
Do not be like the horse, like the mule,
With no understanding, with bit and bridle,
or else they do not come near you.”
Many are the sorrows of the lawless;
But as for the one trusting in Yahuah,
Kindness surrounds him.
Be glad in Yahuah and exult, you obedient;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!"

Conclusion:

Psalm 32 shows us the path to victory in our spiritual battles. It begins with acknowledging our sins, not hiding from them, and seeking Yahuah's forgiveness. When we do, we find that He is our hiding place, our source of deliverance, and our guide in times of trouble. By trusting in Yahuah and staying obedient to His ways, we are surrounded by His kindness and can find joy even in the midst of our struggles.
