Tragic Case of Child Abuse: The Death of Zykerria Robinson
On October 18, 2018, tragedy struck when 5-year-old Zykerria Robinson was found unresponsive in the Oak Tree Apartments home she shared with her mother, Michelle Lynn Cannimore, and her mother’s boyfriend, Jonte Dominique Harris. Initially, Cannimore claimed she found Zykerria face down in the bathtub, but this was later revealed to be a fabrication.The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office discovered the child in critical condition. Harris admitted he left the non-responsive Zykerria on the couch for seven hours without seeking medical help. The homicide report uncovered harrowing details, including four adult human bite marks and evidence of long-term physical abuse. The little girl had suffered multiple injuries, including head trauma, adult bite marks, black eyes, bruising, and a broken clavicle. Zykerria tragically passed away after being taken off life support on October 19, 2018. Both Cannimore and Harris were charged with first-degree murder and child abuse.
