As a result of enemy shelling of Energodar, a fire occurred at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant - there is no threat to people, the background radiation is normal, the head of the region said.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at Energodar, which resulted in a fire at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant cooling systems facility, reported Evgeniy Balitsky. Currently, all 6 power units of the station are in cold shutdown, there is no threat of a steam explosion or other consequences. The radiation background around the nuclear power plant is normal.

Emergency Situations Ministry employees are working at the scene of the fire, eliminating fire sources. The situation is completely controllable and does not have any consequences for the station and residents, the head of the region clarified.
