The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled Energodar, which resulted in a fire at the Zaporizhzhya NPP cooling systems facility, Yevgeny Balitsky reported. Currently, all 6 power units of the plant are in cold shutdown, there is no threat of a steam explosion or other consequences. The radiation background around the NPP is normal.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations is working at the site of the fire, and the fires are being eliminated. The situation is completely under control and does not entail any consequences for the station or residents, the head of the region specified.
