A passenger plane with at least 62 people aboard crashed in a residential area of a city in Brazil’s Sao Paulo state on Friday.
According to preliminary information, the plane took off from the Brazilian city of Cascavel and flew to the city of Guarulhos. The airline Voepass confirmed that there were 58 passengers and 4 crew members aboard. Rescuers and military police are working at the scene of the accident. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that it appeared that all passengers and crew aboard had died. Brazilian television network GloboNews showed footage of a large area on fire and smoke coming out of an apparent plane fuselage in a residential area full of houses.
