Posted • August 11, 2024: A 90-year-old veteran who was forced to pawn jewelry to take care of his wife with dementia, gets $300,000 raised for him after his story went viral. A GoFundMe was started by Jenelle Marie after the veteran, 'Donald,' came into her shop to pawn jewelry after he fell "behind terribly on all of his bills." The video below went viral on TT which showed Marie giving him an envelope with $1300 in it. Marie then launched a GoFundMe, raising over $300,000 which will help Donald pay off debt he accrued while taking care of his wife. "He is the sweetest old man you could ever meet and loves his wife dearly. He takes care of her around the clock and his landlord is raising their rent and he is falling behind terribly with all of his bills," the GoFundMe said.
