Topping a dead thorny black locust

Topping a very dead very thorny and very nasty black locust over an apt building (*behind me) earlier today,

Because the canopy doglegged back towards the apt building it was rocking back and forth so I shoved in a wedge by hand to keep it from sitting back until I got deep enough into the cut.
