Unforgiven: A Liquid Gospel of Heartbreak

This story is about a relationship. Good stories often have a bit of truth in them. Although I'll not judge if it is good or not, there is some truth and reality buried in this tale somewhere. I used ChatGPT4o, Suno, Dreamstudio, Luma, Runway, and OpenShot to create this. I also fiddled a bit with AI Cartoon Generator (perchance.org/ai-cartoon-generator) for exploring animation options and for help. Some of the descriptors used in the song were: epic liquid gospel, motown funk, american primitivism two step, rhythm and blues, slow burn, and extreme hurt and anger.

The lyrics, in full, are as follows:
Verse 1
Decades ago, we thought we had it all,
Young and in love, nothing could make us fall,
But old photos, secrets unravelled,
Sparks lit a pyre, from there a shadowed path we travelled.

Pre-Chorus
I deleted old memories, of a past long gone,
On your word, I erased, tried to move on,
You said it was Mom who said I was foolish,
Your manipulation, lies embellished.

Chorus
Lies gained the moment I dropped the link,
Threw away my past, and you didn't even blink,
Our relationship was walking dead, before we said "I do,"
Lost in hazey lies, I refused to see you.
Was it really love that we once knew?
Or was it lost, for me and you?

Verse 2
Thanksgiving Eve, in a town far from home,
Moved for your career, feeling so alone,
Just you, your brother, and his new girlfriend,
Playing Risk, but thoughts on old photos rent.
The rage erupted, molten, unbidden attack
Pulled up the website, your ex in the stack,
My voice broke the silence, accusations flew,
They all stared at me, like they had no clue.

Pre-Chorus
I deleted old memories, of a past long gone,
On your word, I erased, tried to move on,
You said it was Mom who said I was foolish,
Your manipulation, lies embellished.

Chorus
Love lost the moment I pressed delete,
Threw away my past, and you didn't even blink
Our relationship was walking dead, before we said "I do,"
Lost in a web of lies, I saw the truth in you.
Was it really love that we once knew,
Oh was it love, for me and you?

Bridge
Nights turned cold, lying back to back,
Each word a heart crushing attack,
I lashed out irrationally, fueled by pain,
Feeding your gaslight, going insane.
Your tiny slices, surgical strikes,
Each little jab, calling forth night.

Chorus
Love lost the moment I pressed delete,
Threw away my past, and you didn't even blink
Our relationship was walking dead, before we said "I do,"
Lost in a web of lies, I saw the truth in you.
Was it ever love that we once knew,
Or was it LUST, for me and you?

Outro
After every fight, every tear I shed,
I asked for forgiveness, words left unsaid,
Hoping you’d see and ask for it too,
But you never learned, spurned any hopes anew.
Reflecting on past, days now few,
Wondering how I ever wound up with you.
Difficult journey, dark agony,
Your absence released me, love set free.
Incapable of fighting, hand in hand,
Thanks for not forgiving, there I stand...
