Reid Hoffman's Power Play: Can Lina Khan Survive the Mega Donor's Agenda?

In a shockingly unashamed public statement, mega donor flexes his muscles and lets the Harris campaign know that anti monopoly regulation (and the candidates that allow it to continue) will not enjoy the necessary donations or fundraising brought to them by the donor class.

In this case, Reid Hoffman offers his advice as an "expert" that it somehow hurts competition to stop companies like Microsoft (which he happens to be on the board of AND has acquired an ownership position of a company he is selling to Microsoft) should not be interfered with by the FTC, whose job it is to investigate monopolies and make sure the consumer markets are not being negatively affected by the inevitable conditions created by monopolies (price fixing, reduction in competition, less variety of services, lack of opportunity for small to mid sized businesses, lack of opportunity for upward mobility, etc).

While it is unlikely that the DNC will use its influence on Biden/Harris to fire anti trust icon Lina Khan immediately, the message is clear and Lina Khan does not seem likely to survive in a Harris administration, if the mega donors have their say, but ironically may find safe harbor with a second Trump administration with the support of people like JD Vance.

Lina Khan is presented with a choice proceed with pursuing half of her mandate as head of the FTC, to protect the US from monopolies, or forgo this essential mission to appease the mega donors.

Mega donor Reid Hoffman does not solely donate to DNC candidates. He is also a well-known supporter of Nikki Hailey who has shown clear signs of supporting forever wars, the main objective of the military industrial complex.

As we move into the AI centered economy, protecting the public from monied interests is more important now than ever. Gaps in wealth will continue to grow exponentially if we cannot protect the few regulatory institutions and tools we have from being corrupted - especially when it is brazenly done on CNN.

Support Lina Khan by sharing your sentiments on this issue and by following the anti trust work done against monopolistic powers like Microsoft to ensure that the FTC faithfully continues on its noble mission. Will you be vigilant and vocal on this issue?
