After starting from Grand Haven on Tuesday, Dreyer covered approximately 37 miles toward Wisconsin before stopping late Wednesday morning. A friend posted on Dreyer's Facebook page that he ended the swim due to adverse water conditions, but he is "doing well" and did not experience any medical issues. Dreyer first swam 65 miles across Lake Michigan in 1998 and made two unsuccessful attempts last year due to poor weather conditions.
