CDC Director says that contraindications to Covid vaccines are rare

"The reasons providers don't recommend flu or Covid vaccine is that they think that there are medical contraindications. We want to reiterate that contraindications to these vaccines are exceptionally rare. Severe allergies are rare, things like the multi inflammatory syndrome in children is incredibly rare and myocarditis is also rare. Again these are things that there was some myocarditis also very rare, but it was rare in adolescents or young males. We've seen that even decrease over time. 150 in 1 million doses and again for MISC that is less than 1 per a million vaccinated children. So these are incredibly rare and really want to make sure that a contraindication isn't preventing you from making that strong recommendation to your patient."
