Iowa Talk Guys #115 Venezuela: 2024 Election and a Brief History

64

Originally aired August 5, 2024. This week on the show, The Talk Guys discuss Venezuela. The country is full of protests after the standing president, Nicolas Maduro, was re-elected. Protesters, and even the US government, are claiming that Maduro rigged the election and only won 51% of the vote due to voter fraud. Maduro has been president of Venezuela since 2013, right after Hugo Chavez, who had been president from 1998 until his death in 2013. Nothing is really new under the sun in Venezuela; the Talk Guys go through some history of this country and discuss how current events could affect US citizens in a negative way in the near future. The Talk Guys also discuss news about an ex-green beret that was arrested on charges related to a 2020 coup attempt in Venezuela. Please enjoy and share the show.
