First Look Teaser for Soderbergh's Ghost in a House Film 'Presence'
By Alex Billington
Presence Trailer
"The new film from Soderbergh..." Neon has unveiled a first look teaser trailer for Steven Soderbergh's new ghost story film Presence. We've been waiting for a release date for this one ever since Sundance earlier this year! It premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and is one of the best horror films from this fest, a fascinating shot-in-one-location thriller about a family that moves into a very nice house. Neon has now confirmed that the film will open in limited theaters in January 2025 early next year. A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone. The rest of the story must not be spoiled - wait until you watch. Presence stars Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Julia Fox, Eddy Maday, and West Mulholland. It's a very slick film with a smooth camera following a ghost that drifts around this house with a not-that-scary but also very-scary (once it gets going) supernatural story that involves the two kids. Barely any footage in this teaser - keep an eye out for more. This is one film all cinephiles need to see.

Intense Red Band Trailer for 'Out Come the Wolves' Survival Thriller
By Alex Billington
Out Come the Wolves Trailer
"There haven't been wolves in this area for years!" IFC Films + Shudder have unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Out Come the Wolves, the latest horror from filmmaker Adam MacDonald (of Backcountry and Pyewacket). This intense Canadian survival thriller set in the backwoods is about a woman who must fight two kinds of wolves - animals living in nature, and jealous human males. 🐺 Watch out. At a remote cabin deep in the wilderness, a weekend of hunting with three people turns to mayhem and a fight for survival when a pack of wolves suddenly attack a man, his best friend, and her fiance. "Sophie is forced to rely on her hunting prowess to face the deadly predators and save the one closest to her heart." Of course. Starring Missy Peregrym as Sophie, Joris Jarsky and Damon Runyan. I thought we'd moved on from using wolves as the villains in survival movies, but I guess they're a metaphor this time. Just makes me want to (re)watch that Liam Neeson survival movie The Grey instead, in which he also fights off wolves.

Wacky 'Tickets On Sale' Trailer for Tim Burton's 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'
By Alex Billington
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Trailer
"You're a figment of my imagination!" Warner Bros has launched a funky 60-scond trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to announce that advance tickets are now on sale. This highly anticipated sequel will premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Opening Night (at the end of August), before hitting theaters right after. Beetlejuice 2 continues the story with the very same family. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the peculiar model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened (once again). Michael Keaton returns as the miscreant Betelgeuse + Winona Ryder stars again as Lydia, joined by an exuberant full cast featuring Jenna Ortega as Astrid, Catherine O'Hara, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, Burn Gorman, and Filipe Cates; plus Willem Dafoe as a ghost detective who, in his life, was a B movie action star. This is such a kooky trailer, starting out with Beetlejuice singing the 80s classic "Right Here Waiting" then ending with all manner of bonkers afterlife shenanigans. Burton goin' wild again! Should be a fun one.

Mystery Horror Thriller 'Winter Island' Trailer Starring Elijah Carnazzo
By Alex Billington
Winter Island trailer
"I want to find my sister... not rid the world of evil." 4Digital Media has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled Winter Island, the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Tony Doupé. This premiered at a few horror festivals already earlier this year, and it'll be out to watch on VOD in the US in Spetember just before October's horror season. When a young girl is found dead on a small, wooded island, her teenage brother's postmortem visions point to an evil presence within their own family. He soon comes across eerie, potentially supernatural phenomena and begins to suspect the worst. The horror stars Elijah Carnazzo as Galen, Jason Adkins, Ashlyn Harlos, Katie Prentiss. Early reviews describe the film as "a classic ghost story in the tradition of some of the best titles the subgenre has to offer." The trailer pretty clearly hints at the religious undertones within this story, which are no doubt connected to the girl's death.

By Alex Billington
We Are Zombies Traielr
"Don't let them bite you!" Screambox has revealed the amusing official trailer for a Canadian horror comedy movie called We Are Zombies, arriving to watch this month streaming on the horror channel Screambox TV. The makers of Turbo Kid and Summer of 84 offer a fresh take on the undead – it's the latest from the filmmaker group called RKSS, short for "Roadkill Superstars". What do we do with all the undead strolling around? In a city infested with the living-impaired – also known as non-cannibal zombies – 3 slackers after easy money must fight small-time crooks and an evil mega-corporation to save their kidnapped grandma. Based on the comic book series "The Zombies That Ate the World," this premiered at numerous festivals last year. Set in a post-zombie apocalypse where the undead are just part of everyday life, the film follows three slackers working as zombie hunters. The indie horror stars Alexandre Nachi, Derek Johns, and Megan Peta Hill. This looks like a bloody blast! Hopefully as disgusting and as hilarious as it seems in this trailer.

Megan Fox is an AI Android in Tech Horror Film 'Subservience' Trailer
By Alex Billington
Subservience Trailer
"Maybe if I had your heart, he would love me the way he loves you." XYZ Films has revealed the trailer for a sci-fi horror film titled Subservience, the newest collaboration between director S.K. Dale and actress Megan Fox following Till Death before this. Set to debut direct-to-VOD starting in September coming up this fall. Yet another of these dime-a-dozen tech horror movies where a robot system at home turns violent and starts to kill the nice humans who brought it inside. Fox stars as Alice, a lifelike artificially intelligent android, who has the ability to take care of any family and home. It suddenly becomes self-aware and wants everything her new family has to offer, starting with the affection of her owner – and she'll kill to get it. The cast includes Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Atanas Srebrev, Andrew Whipp, Matilda Firth, and Kate Nichols. At least these movies will continue to remind us that we definitely should not trust AI.

Super Scary Trailer for Horror Movie 'Bagman' Starring Sam Claflin
By Alex Billington
Bagman Trailer
"He really does exist..." "He always knows where to find you..." Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for a horror movie called Bagman, set to hit theaters nationwide this fall. From the same filmmaker behind the films Outcast and The Girl with All the Gifts, plus the "Black Museum" episode of "Black Mirror". When a sinister threat from his childhood returns to haunt him, a father desperately struggles against his deepest inner fear. Only this time, the fight isn't for himself; it's for his family. For centuries and across cultures, parents have warned children of the legendary "Bagman", who snatches innocent children and stuffs them into his vile, rotting bag—never to be seen again. When the Bagman comes for his family this time, will he be able to get rid of him? From director Colm McCarthy, this horror movie stars Sam Claflin and Antonia Thomas, with William Hope, Steven Cree, Frankie Corio, Adelle Leonce, and Henry Pettigrew. Looks seriously creepy, especially with the Bagman being so brazen in his appearances with that nasty grin.

Trailer #2 for 'Speak No Evil' Remake Starring a Scary James McAvoy
By Alex Billington
Speak No Evil Trailer #2
"I've always wanted a family like yours." "Something's not right with him..." Universal & Blumhouse have debuted a second official trailer for the disquieting horror remake Speak No Evil, a Hollywood take on the Danish horror film Speak No Evil from 2022. Opening in theaters in September just before the Halloween season. This takes the same disturbing plot and spins in a bit, though it does stick fairly closely to the other film. Two families meet while on holiday, and one invites the other to their country estate. After they arrive at an idyllic English country house, it morphs from a dream vacation into a psychological nightmare when Paddy takes over. This new Speak No Evil movie stars Mackenzie Davis & Scoot McNairy as American couple Louise & Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler), accept a weekend holiday invitation of Paddy (James McAvoy), and his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Dan Hough). This trailer gives away tons of the story, though it's more about the terror of being with this kind of madman, than it is discovering that he is a madman. Take a look.

Disgusting New Teaser for the Horror Sequel 'Terrifier 3' Set at X-Mas
By Alex Billington
Terrifier 3 Trailer
"Christmas comes early this year." Cineverse & Bloody Disgusting have debuted a disgusting new teaser trailer for horror sequel Terrifier 3, next in the Terrifier series of gory slasher films by director Damien Leone. We also posted a teaser trailer late last year for this one, which is getting a new trailer + poster for San Diego Comic-Con. In the third film, Art the Clown will unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve. 🎄 They filmed it in "anamorphic widescreen, so I want it to feel more like an old-school John Carpenter movie. It's going to still have that epic feel of part two, but now have the tone of part one with Christmas. It's going to be a completely different beast... It's going to feel different, but it's still going to have everything you love in it." Starring Jason Patric, Daniel Roebuck, Lauren LaVera, Bryce Johnson, Bradley Stryker, Chris Jericho, and David Howard Thornton back as Art the Clown. Not much new footage, but it is extremely bloody and gross. As expected.
