To enter El Corchito Ecological Reserve, you must take a small boat from the jetty. The boat ride takes you through beautiful mangroves that protect this wonderful place.

The mangrove area was once part of an old narrow road used during the railroad era, connecting the port with the towns of Chicxulub Pueblo and Conkal. Now, this area has become a nesting site for flamingos. Just over a kilometer south of the Progreso-Chicxulub trail is the flamingo nesting area. These wading birds usually inhabit the mangrove area of Uaymitún. Upon disembarking, you can admire the beauty of nature.

One of the highlights is Rosada, also known as the pink lagoon. This is one of the salt mining lakes, where the waters are filled with red plankton and shrimp, giving it a distinctive pink hue.
