Congresswoman Harriet Hageman had a firey debate with Jerry Nadler and Jamie Raskin in the House Rules Committee meeting where she voted in favor of a House resolution that recommended finding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee. Hageman argued that there were no grounds for withholding audio recordings of President Biden's interview with Special Counsel Hur, given that the transcript had already been released.

Representative Harriet Hageman also stated that the recordings were important to verify the accuracy of the transcript and to understand the manner in which things were said, as the Department of Justice had acknowledged differences between the transcript and the recordings. Hageman asserted that Garland must comply with the Congressional subpoena or face consequences for not doing so.
