EasyCAP Test: Dino Crisis 2 (PS1) [WMV format]

This is a test of a cheap EasyCAP capture card which was bought off Amazon. In this video the PAL version of Dino Crisis 2 for Playstation one is recorded.

The capture card is good value for money but the video quality and efficiency depends on quite a few factors such as the format and encoding chosen, the speed of the computer and the source video quality. I recommend a trial and error technique to get the best format and encoding best suited to your needs. As a general guide though I recommend mpeg for videos which are intended to be burnt to DVD (due to quicker transcoding times), AVI for the best performance/quality/size ratio and WMV for videos intended to be uploaded to the internet (this is just based on the results I got they may be different for other people). If you are using the card to record video game footage I highly recommend splitting video and using a TV/Monitor as there is a small delay due to the time it takes to process video (which makes controlling gameplay awkward), using the card just to record TV/video footage however should be fine without a monitor or TV.
