The Avenging of the Innocent

Shots, Innocence Lost
Too Late to be the Hero
On Time To Avenge

A Loss Claimed by Fear
But to Avenge Protects All
Rise! The Call Goes On

Vengeance:
This is such a loaded word. Unfortunately, English has but one word for two types of Vengeance. One is the kind of anger and resentment. The demand to receive retribution for what has been taken or on behalf of the one who has experienced loss. This is the vengeance that has no end and is never satisfied because the original lost goodness cannot be returned, otherwise, it could be recompensed without vengeance. this is why it is written of it, "vengeance is mine, thus says the Lord."

The other is the reconciliation of wrongs in order to prevent further evil after evil has been done. It is the reason a criminal faces punishment, regardless of their status, sorrow, or conviction; though the sentence may be mitigated based on all of these things. It is akin to justice, but it is not retribution or making a wrong right, rather, it is a whole new heroic act in defense of innocence. Those who do evil will continue unless they are opposed. Those who have failed the call to be heroes may miss chances to save some, but may yet rise up in defense of those who remain.

This is not the vengeance that you immediately want, but it is the type you must learn by considering what is left, not what is lost.

Haiku:
The Haiku is an unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively. The haiku first emerged in Japanese literature during the 17th century, as a terse reaction to elaborate poetic traditions, though it did not become known by the name haiku until the 19th century.
