For billions of years, biological life has been seeded on planets across the galaxy by more advanced beings who were technologically capable of traveling through space. Many times, they tinker with genetics and create hybrids with native wildlife that are more suited to survive the environmental conditions of those planets than pure ET variants. Unlike what we observe publicly on Earth, eugenics and genetic engineering are a major part of ET races out there. Most of them are in a race to advance their own genetics by collecting the best DNA and associated energetic essence from around the Galaxy. For this reason, they hybridize their DNA onto native populations, hoping to one day reverse this process and transfer essential traits back onto their own populations through reverse-hybridization.
