Archery Opener: An Ohio Whitetail Hunt

Despite spending a some time on the archery range, a busy schedule caused the 2018 archery opener to sneak right up on me. On the eve of the opener I grabbed a bunch of gear and prepared quickly for a morning hunt. Morning brought anticipation, but not expectation, until a doe made an appearance well within range. The opportunity to fill the freezer was quickly upon me and I had to capitalize quickly. After a good shot, thick vegetation impeded my tracking efforts, but a short while later help arrived to finish the job, and haul in the bounty.
