ngredients:
500 grams dried broad beans (fava beans)
1 large onion, cut in half
1/3 cup (50 ml) olive oil
1 heaped teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1.5 liters drinking water
Fresh dill for decoration

Instructions:

Rinse the dried fava beans thoroughly.

Cooking:

In a large pot, add the beans.
Add the 1.5 liters of drinking water to the pot.
Add the halved onion to the pot.
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer.
Cook for about 30-40 minutes, or until the beans are very soft and the water has reduced significantly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.

Add Ingredients:

Once the beans are soft, add the salt, sugar, and olive oil to the pot.

Blend the Mixture:

Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth, cake-like consistency. If using a regular blender, you may need to do this in batches.

Pour and Cool:

Pour the blended mixture into an oiled tray.
Allow it to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for a few hours until it sets and firms up.

Serve:

Once set, cut the Fava into slices.
Decorate with fresh dill.
