Dashcam shows a pursuit of motorcyclist reached speeds of 120 miles per hour in Thurston County

Law enforcement attempted to stop a street bike for traveling 80mph in a 50mph zone. When a traffic stop was initiated, the motorcycle accelerated off. A deputy intercepted the bike on Marvin Rd SE and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect fled through east Lacey before heading north bound on Meridian Rd at 120mph.

The rider was unable stop fast enough for the 90° turn and nearly crashed into the ditch, at which point TCSO was able to prevent the bike from entering the roadway again while the rider tried to get the bike back into gear. The bike continued to flee in the ditch and was cut off a second time prior to being able to get back on the roadway at a neighborhood entrance. The rider fell off at low speed and surrendered.

The fine for a speeding ticket of 30mph over the limit (assuming the rider pulls over and is written a ticket for the full amount) is $298 and can be reduced or deferred. Thurston County Sheriff’s Office routinely gives breaks and lets drivers and riders off with verbal warnings. Instead, the rider was booked into TCSO jail for attempting to elude and the motorcycle was impounded.
