CD 1648 Singing the Song of Surrender
7-7-24 P.M. Service
(Can you See the Victory before the Battle?)

There is a song in and by the Holy Spirit in our spirit that we can sing that changes the devil's devices to God's praise! When we surrender to that Holy Spirit inspired truth the enemy in our lives is surrendered up! Then our God does a new thing in our life because we came into agreement with Him in the spirit first! We are NOT talking about public service, we are speaking about our personal private devotions!

Food 4 Thought: Psalm 32:7 (KJV) Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me (From the Hebrew word “saw-bab’ - ”to revolve around - surround - to become my border) about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Turn with me to Paul’s Epistle to the church at Ephesus please for our foundational text:

*Text: Ephesians 5:17-21 (KJV) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

From these precious verses we learn that its the Lord’s will for us to be continually filled - over and over with His Holy Spirit! The way they were filled on the Day of Pentecost had the evidence of speaking in tongues! In our private devotions we are to pray in the spirit and yes sing in the spirit building up ourselves in our most holy faith (Jude1:20). The devil’s goal is to steal, kill, and destroy our lives! When we learn how to worship the Lord in our spirits by the help of the Holy Spirit then we get a prophetic word - “songs of deliverance”! We are able to give thanks to the Lord in all things because we know He is working everything out for our good! Let’s turn to the book of Psalms please:

*Read Psalm 40:1-5 (KJV) I waited patiently for the Lord ; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. [2] He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. [3] And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. [4] Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. [5] Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

When we speak or sing by the Holy Spirit in our spirit it becomes a prophetic decree of the Lord’s will for our lives! The enemy desires us to keep giving him glory speaking about the trouble! He loves us to “make a song” about his evil work in our lives! Turn with me to the Prophet Isaiah please:

*Isaiah 42:5-10 (KJV) Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: [6] I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; [7] To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. [8] I am the Lord : that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. [9] Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Q. How will the Lord do “new things”?
By you and I getting His will in our spirits by praying in and by His Holy Spirit! Will you pray and sing in the spirit, see the following verses please

*Isaiah 42:10-14 (KJV) Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. [11] Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar (dusky) doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains (Mark 11:22-23). [12] Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands. [13] The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. [14] I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

Jesus declared that we believers are the light of the world through Him! We are to shine light into dark lives! We are to speak to the mountains of life and curse them and not vice versa! Are you looking at Jesus as He leads captivity captive? Are you looking at Jesus as He takes back the spoils from the devil? Turn to 1 Samuel please:

*Read 1 Samuel 17:50-54 (KJV) So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. [51] Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. [52] And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron. [53] And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents. [54] And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent.

The little shepherd boy took his sling and mixed it with 5 smooth stones - the Jesus of God’s Grace and brought down his mountain! Then he used the enemies own sword - the words of the enemy to cut off his head - his power in David’s life! Then David put the armor of the enemy - everything he trusted in in his own tent! Now David - a type of Jesus owns everything the enemy trusted in! Praise the Lord forever more!
