The Liberty Podcast

Welcome Podcast Patriots,

We’re back after a week off. No more down time until at least early November. No days off amid these consequential times. No observing from the sidelines. Maybe once upon time Americans could afford to reduce citizenship to that of a spectator sport. But that time has passed.

Where we are certainly once was unimaginable. A former President is running for re-election, but it’s not just a matter of victory or defeat. It might be a life or death proposition.

Donald Trump turned his head, just slightly, in early evening in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a campaign rally on July 13. It was at this fateful moment that a bullet whizzed by, grazing his right ear. An unforgettable brush with death.

But the corrupt media, the U.S. Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are trying to forget, with some pushing a disgusting narrative that the assassination was a staged political stunt.

(Apologies. I make a few erroneous references to "Benny Thompson").

This week, we turn attention to reporting from Butler by epic podcaster Benny Johnson, who returned to the site — and now we know it was a highly vulnerable site — of a tragic episode that left an innocent rally attendee dead at age 50. Johnson was accompanied by two U.S. congressmen with military reconissance backgrounds, Eli Crane (R-AZ) and Cory Mills (R-FL).

The gaping security failures of July 13 are actually overshadowed today by very real concerns that Trump remains vulnerable to assassination because the Secret Service is not competent to protect his campaign events. Or is indifferent toward assuring his safety. Or both.

Radio host Dan Bongino, an 11-year Secret Service agent, and conservative standard-bearer Charlie Kirk, are among those worried that Trump is risking his life to run for president. Bongino says a “cadre” of sources still inside the USSS tells him the agency is in disarray after years of indiscipline. Kirk observed that a July 26 event presented by his Turning Point USA organization was understaffed by the Secret Service as Trump arrived to speak.

Where do we turn amid a barrage of polling results amid the showdown between Trump and the newly coronated Kamala Harris? She’s surging, some pollsters insist. Others specific to key swing states suggest Trump is still out in front.

Rich Baris doesn’t just poll. His Big Data Poll surveys its participants across a broad spectrum of demographics and issues. When Baris looks at the metrics that matter, he finds Trump gaining in areas such as “job approval” and “favorability” and “trust on handling issues”. In fact, a recent late July survey Baris just released shows Trump’s job approval as president (2017-21) has come all the way back to its high, around 52%, during the first month after his inauguration.

Meanwhile, Harris trails Trump on the key issues when the 3,000+ surveyed were asked, “Who do you trust more to handle the following?”. Trump by wide margins is more trusted on Economy and Jobs, Inflation/Cost of Living, Immigration/Border Security, Crime and Safety, and National Security and Foreign Policy. In other words, he’s the trusted candidate on all of the issues that actually matter.
