Welcome to the Ron Spomer Outdoors Podcast! Bears, bears, bears. It seems we can't get enough of bears. And it being spring and bear season, well, that hiking and camping season coming right up. There are a lot of people who are worried about bears because they're going to be out in bear country. So we thought we would do a lot of things about bears in the next month or so, including this podcast in which we answer some basic questions about what is good bear protection, and that includes just about anything that would keep you safe from a, shall we say, prospecting bear. So we are going to read a few comments from you good folks you have sent in in response to some of the videos that we have already done on bear protection handguns. Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion – the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me – from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing.
