Archaeologists in Jerusalem’s City of David National Park have uncovered large ancient fortifications, including a moat and walls, believed to date back to the time of the First Temple and the Kingdom of Judah.

This discovery sheds new light on the biblical descriptions of Jerusalem’s topography, such as the Ophel and the Millo.

The findings, which include defensive structures that separated the ancient city’s residential and upper areas, offer new insights into Jerusalem’s historical layout and may prompt a reevaluation of biblical accounts, Fox News has reported.
