CAN WE DO MORE AND SHOULD WE EVEN CARE?

Dear MM Lee,

I wish you the best of health. On 28 November 2011, I wrote to you in regard to the Palestinian struggle for a homeland - http://www.dearmmlee.com/palestinians-need-our-support/

Today I am writing to seek permission to allow the World Harmony Day platform to rally for the LIBERATION of PALESTINE. http://www.palestinebedrockoftheworld.com/palestinian-declaration/

My teacher said that if the world does not care for the Palestinian People then Palestine will disappear from the map of the World. I'm sure you do not want that to happen to the poor Palestinian people because you have fought tooth and nail for our beloved Singapore hence you are able to feel their pain and sorrow.

Without Singapore, we are nothing, and thanks to Mr Lee Kuan Yew we stand tall in the eyes of the world. Similarly, without Palestine, the Palestinians have been treated worse than animals in their own country by Israel. I hope you can give the Palestinians the support by allowing us ordinary Singaporeans to play our part to strive for greater humanity, is that too much to ask from the Singapore Government?

This was what President Obama had said in Dec 2009 in his Acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize speech, “Let us reach for the world that ought to be -- that spark of the divine that still stirs within each of our souls.” This was exactly what we were doing on WHD 2002 unfortunately due to the coming Iraq war one of the ministers turned our event upside down.
http://youtu.be/WRmAIG3yBFA

Our pure action did not harm Singapore in any sort of way in fact otherwise. We were indeed very troubled when we got feedback that the authorities thought WHD members were terrorists in the making. I'm sure after viewing the video you will think otherwise. Everyone who attended that night can feel all the members’ souls and know we are genuine in striving for greater humanity which is very necessary in these troubled times and even now especially when Israel is Adamant to Bomb Iran! The people on that night had given us the thumbs up and asked us not to give up no matter what! I don't expect the government to give me the THUMB UP but I sincerely hope the government will allow us to support the Palestinian people's struggle for a homeland.

I believe now is the time that I can open my heart to you without reservation and my six senses tell me you are ready to listen to me with an open heart because we cannot turn the other side anymore or have our eyes half shut to eternity. My mother Lim Soon Heng said that Lee Kuan Yew is a reasonable man he will listen if whatever we do is for the good of Singapore. Our foreign policy should not be one-way traffic and as PM Lee Hsien Loong said we must have the right POLITIC and the right politic now is to give the Palestinian people the right support by allowing us to do what is right for the sake of greater humanity. Even the Israelis and American Jewish people are in line to give the Palestinians a Homeland.

I sincerely hope the Singapore government can do more for Palestine but if we are not on the same page please allow the caring Singaporeans like me to play our part. Because this is what is expected of us from Almighty God!

Your's truly,
Chong Sun Wah

Noam Chomsky: Sabra & Shatila Massacre That Forced Sharon's Ouster Recalls Worst of Jewish Pogroms
https://youtu.be/lDpJnGNlBGI

Published on Jan 13, 2014

http://www.democracynow.org http://www.democracynow.org - We look at one of the most shocking incidents in the career of the late former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon: the Sabra and Shatila massacre. Up to 2,000 Palestinians died on Sept. 16-17, 1982, when the Israeli military allowed a Christian militia to attack the camp. Then-Defense Minister Ariel Sharon was forced to resign after a special Israeli investigative panel declared him to be "personally responsible" for the massacre. We air a description of the killings by Ellen Siegel, a Jewish-American nurse who was working at Gaza Hospital at the Sabra camp at the time of the attacks, and speak with Rashid Khalidi, Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia University, and Noam Chomsky, world-renowned political dissident, linguist, author and Institute Professor Emeritus at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This is an old video from a series called The Human Factor. This episode is about about Dr Ang Swee Chai (Swee Ang) who, after fleeing from persecution in Singapore, became a prominent surgeon in the UK despite prejudice against women in the field. She went on to witness a massacre of Palestinian civilian refugees in Lebanon and became an activist advocating for the health and rights of the Palestinian people. Along with her husband, Francis Khoo (who also features in the video), she founded a charitable organization called Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Dr Swee Chai Ang co-founded Medical Aid for Palestine as a result of her experiences in Beirut and Sabra and Shatila. Surgeon, Dr Swee Chai Ang went to help the wounded of Beirut after the 1982 Israeli invasion and witnessed the Sabra and Shatila massacre of unarmed men women and children, Palestinian and Lebanese, between the 15th-18th September 1982."Now more than 30 years later, we know that the killers were brought in by Israeli armoured cars and tanks, obeyed Israeli commands, their paths lit by Israeli military flares, and some of them also wore Israeli uniforms. The mutilated bodies of the victims were thrown into mass graves by Israeli bulldozers. hrhttp://www.palestinechronicle.com/ari...

FROM BEIRUT TO JERUSALEM EYE-WITNESS TO SABRA-SHATILA MASSACRE by Dr.Ang Swee Chai
http://www.palestinebedrockoftheworld.com/from-beirut-to-jerusalem-eye-witness-to-sabra-shatila-massacre-by-dr-ang-swee-chai/

I, Chong Sun Wah must sacrifice my life for the Palestinians because our government did wrong to the Palestinians by keeping silent, in short, we have condoned it. This was what Dr. Ang Swee Chai had written and I have taken from "Reflection on the 25th anniversary of the Sabra-Shatila massacre, 2007"

SILENCE IS A WAR CRIME! NO MORE DISCUSSION ONE STATE IS THE SOLUTION!
http://thepoisonappleoftheworld.com/silence-is-a-war-crime-no-more-discussion-one-state-is-the-solution/

Jesus was crucified 2,000 years ago. Both Jesus and the massacred Palestinians were innocent and did not deserve to be tortured and killed. But there is one difference. Jesus chose to suffer and die for our sins, to take on the punishment which we deserved. He is our Messiah. The will of God is always justice and that would mean the perpetrators of crimes have to be punished. Jesus had borne the punishment for us. We are all therefore on a level playing field before God our judge and redeemer. And I am just as guilty as those who committed the massacre. To some, war crimes are sins committed by others; and so they are but that morning in the full glare of the blazing Beirut sun, I understood. Palestinians could only have died because collectively we have condoned it. Like the crucifixion, some Christians blame the Jewish leaders in Jesus; others blame Pontius Pilate and the Romans. Others blame the crowd which shouted: "Crucify Him". But He was crucified on our behalf. In the same way, I ask myself again and again - who has got the Palestinians' blood on their hands?

After going through soul-searching, I came to the conclusion that I, too, had blood on my hands. Up to that time I was bigoted and prejudiced. I cannot excuse myself by claiming ignorance. For the weeks preceding the massacre, I was too prejudiced to believe the stories told to me by the camp people. I rejoiced in the evacuation of the PLO from Beirut and failed to see the pain of the Palestinian families being split up. I was naive to trust the Western countries which guaranteed the safety of those left behind. I was self-righteous, still thinking of Palestinians as terrorists. I cannot blame others if I had eaten with them, stayed in their homes, enjoyed their kindness and hospitality, and refused to understand until they were murdered. My prejudice had blinded me.

When I saw those broken bodies, I was stunned and emotionally numb. I asked God to forgive me and remembered praying, "Lord Jesus, I have spent more than 30 years denying the Palestinian people their existence. I have hated Arabs. I was blinded by prejudice. Please forgive me. Please let me make amends. Grant that I may spend the next 30 years serving the Palestinians and help me be their friend". I repented. God forgave me, and the Palestinians embraced me. Suddenly I am no longer the living dead. God had breathed into my withered shoulder and filled my heart with love for Him and for the Palestinians.

He has brought me back to life. step by step he brought me back to His side.

Many of my Zionist Christian friends have since shunned me. They refuse to talk to me for I have fallen for the "Philistines". But I am no longer intimidated by all this. I have seen a different face of God - that of love, compassion, and grace. I believe He will heal the broken bodies of the Palestinian people and give them strength to carry their burden. Just as he raised Jesus on the third day, he will bring salvation to the Palestinian people. From their crucifixion will come their resurrection!

For a long time after the massacres, I could not bring myself around to read the Old Testament, thinking it was full of prejudiced passages supporting Israel. I finally plucked up the courage to read it and feared it would be the last time before giving it up. I was pleasantly surprised. I went no further than the first book Genesis when I found out how God, after driving Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, followed them out. I learned God never abandoned them. He made clothes of animal skins for them to keep them warm. I broke down when I read how God saved Ishmael by his jealous wife, Sarah, the mother of Isaac, to abandon them in the desert to die. Hagar placed Ishmael under a bush when their water ran out. She went into the desert and cried out to God. God heard her and a fountain was opened for them to drink. He promised Ishmael would be a father of many nations. Palestinians are the children of Ishmael and the children of Abraham.

So on this 25th anniversary of the massacre, I would want you, my dear friends, to open your hearts so that God can fill you with His love and compassion. may He also grant you the honour of joining the Palestinians in their journey from "Beirut to Jerusalem". As we journey on, may we always have faith that God who made us is compassionate and just and there will be room in His heart for all His children, and His grace and justice will always sustain us as we submit ourselves to him. May we be able to be like the grieving old grandmother from Shatila, who lost 27 loved ones that morning. Yet she could still say: "the will of God be done". She still called God holy and committed her dead children to his care. May we draw strength from our faith that He will heal the deep wounds. He will restore the broken lived. He will bring His justice, He will pour His grace and love on His children, He will mend the broken hearts, He will tear. And bring us home, to the city, He has built and bears His name. Al Quds...Next year in Jerusalem.

Subject: Call for Support for a Palestinian State - Online Petition
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/call-for-support-for-a-palestinian-state.html

Dear MM Lee Kuan Yew,

I am the founder of World Harmony Day but how can we have world harmony when the Palestinian people still do not have a homeland? In primary school, my teacher Mr. Tony Wong brought us to see the film 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' and back to the classroom he wanted us to wear the shoes of the government to understand them better. (If we disagree with the government policy we cannot just open our mouths and criticize instead we should make a proposal to convince them to see things our way.) When I put on the shoes of the Palestinian people I felt so much pain and sorrow for their plight. The essence of education is courage and character, I have posted this petition because I wanted the Palestinian people to have a normal life like us.

My teacher Ms. Low Kum Yoke said that the politicians should be doing God's job which means building a better world. But they often fail humanity, like what has happened in the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. She wanted us to develop our social consciousness and not allow Capitalism to rob us of our moral values and our very souls. When we only care about money and power, our sense of right and wrong becomes blurred. She said that when we have acquired a higher level of consciousness, it is as if God is within us, and we will recognize when something is not right and know how to make it right.

In short, she wanted us to be the conscience and eyes of the politicians, who are often blinded by greed and power, which often leads to false pride and arrogance. Look at what had happened in Gaza, one Israeli soldier was captured and 1800 Palestinians got to die! This is insane, outrageous and inhumane! When politicians do something wrong, we the citizens of the world must Stand Up and Speak Up without fear or reservations.
.
We have been bystanders for far too long and it's time we take action. The world needs us to be proactive; it's time for us to rally our efforts as one concerted voice to claim back our beautiful world. First and foremost, we would need to let the Prime Minister of Israel Mr Netanyahu, and the Jewish people hear our voices and our strong mandate to give the Palestinian people a homeland now. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/sep/18/observer-editorial-palestine-statehood

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/sep/18/observer-editorial-palestine-statehood

In 1948, the United Nations promised the Palestinian people 45% of the land. In 1993, Yitzhak Rabin in the Oslo Agreement had given the Palestinians 22%. After his assassination, all agreements were in disarray. It has been 20 years since. The Netanyahu government refused to conclude the deal citing security as the reason.

I remain convicted of my belief and my fight for world harmony. I strongly believe that with the support of like-minded individuals and world communities, we would be able to rally the Israeli government to give the Palestinian people a homeland in time to come. (Sad to say Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu has no intention to give the Palestinian people a homeland http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2011/09/27/netanyahu-diplomacy-france-spain/

This petition is not "pro-Palestinians"; it is "pro Humanity". WHEN THE OCCUPATION STOPS, THE TERROR WILL STOP TOO.

I hope to get your support for this Petition for a Palestinian State.

The success of the “Arab Spring” tells us that a “Global Spring” is possible to achieve, too. And it can begin with nothing more than a click of your mouse supporting our petition. The Palestinian people need our support, now more than ever, for a “World Spring” to finally achieve a homeland for their people.

To build a better world everyone must care. We must have strong faith that we can build a better and fairer world for all. On behalf of the Palestinian people, I thank you very much for your support.

Love, light, peace, harmony, and unity,

As a young child, I often heard my mother say that Mr. Lee Kuan Yew was not an unreasonable man. If we do something with good intentions, we will not get into trouble with the government. This gave me the courage to strive for what I believe in and I truly believe we need to help the Palestinian people to have a homeland. My teacher said that the Palestinians were very sad people because they were victims. In the late 60's my teacher believed the Singapore government could play a role in helping them bridge the great divide. (My English is not so good so cannot explain it well.)

Dear Friend

As an Israeli peace activist, I wholeheartedly support your initiative. A
Palestinian state is not only good for Palestinians - it is also good for
Israelis. With a Palestinian state, the Palestinians will be free of the
occupation - but also the Israelis will be free of being occupiers and
oppressors, and will, at last, have the chance to live in peace.

Across Palestine, it's the children who come off worst. Traumatised, hungry and always fearful they grow up emotionally scarred, primed to repeat the terrible cycle of violence.

Diana, 5, lives in a cave in the West Bank. Mufida, 16, has Israeli soldiers living on her roof. Mohammad, 10, who attends a weekly demonstration against Israel's security fence, exclaims, "I'm going to bomb the Jews" and is described by his father as obsessed with "defending the Palestinian people". A recently released video by human rights activists shows Israeli police as brutally beating up a Palestinian family in the occupied territories, Press TV learnt.

The video showed an Israeli police using excessive force against a defenseless woman in front of a child while kicking a young boy who is detained minutes later, Press TV reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a report released on Thursday by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said that Israel has since 1967 detained about 750,000 Palestinians including some 12,000 women and tens of thousands of children.

PCBS said that Israel currently holds some 6,000 Palestinians in prisons, including 35 women and 285 children.

In addition, one or more members of almost every Palestinian family have been detained by the Israeli police.

PCBS further said that more than 200 detainees have since 1967 been killed as a result of medical negligence, torture or murder by Israeli soldiers and prison guards.

On Friday, about 12,000 Gazans staged a mass rally, which was called for by the democratically elected Hamas government, to express their solidarity with the Palestinians prisoners who are on a hunger strike for the second consecutive week in response to harsh measures used against them.

"We will not rest until every Palestinian prisoner has returned to his family, we will continue our activities and resistance until we secure the release of all of our brothers and sisters who are being held captive by the Zionists," one of the demonstrators told Press TV.
