Identity Crisis
"She ain't Black." Wanna guess how many times Kamala Harris has heard that? I can imagine that sometimes it was a good thing to hear. Sometimes not so good. Being a brown girl growing up in the 1960s couldn't have been easy. When you're not enough of either group you learn to adapt. Put on the Black face in the street, and the sari when you're with your Mom's side of the family, and play the Caucasian Indian card around the Whites, and giggle when you're uncertain. You deal the exotic card when you see an opportunity.
I'm imagining that Kamala never envisioned herself in her current position. In my humble opinion she's not ready for it. From what I've heard, she's made it to where she is by and large because of what's described above. The ability to adapt, and be accepted.
Pretty gets you through the door. Competence keeps you in. It "looks" and in many cases sounds, (from how she avoids questions by talking in circular double talk), like she was overly reliant on pretty and didn't build a lot of competence.
You might be surprised what I know about this. Not from the perspective of a multi-ethnic female, of course. But from the perspective of someone who's been around multi-ethnic females. Remember where I'm from. One of the original melting pots of the USA.
This is not identity politics. And it's certainly pity or empathy. If you haven't figured it out by now, I don't consider Kamala Harris as a qualified or prepared candidate to hold the highest office in this country. Although I still think They might slip her in. But who cares what I think?
The point is, as usual, the tactics and strategies of the opposition and various degrees of stupidity, ignorance and isms that humans will stoop to to gain their desired result.
It's a behavior that's not exclusively reserved for a Jamaican/Indian descendant of slave owners, or a West Coast Party girl. We've seen the same type of attacks on AOC, MTG, DJT, and JD Vance. Name your candidate. Regardless of their records, the attacks will eventually get personal, vile and hateful, even from those who decry "hate speech." Unless there's an apparent consensus, that "Orange Man Bad."
"Brown Lady Unqualified?" Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
While the slithering slime go after the low hanging fruit, in their typical low life ways, we investigate and imagine the switch from Roman to Arabic numerals for counting and stuff. We have something on KH if you haven't gotten enough here; and a lil prep for our World War III weekend ahead.
