Picking Flowers for Pressing - Pick Blooms Early

Pressing flowers is a delicate art, and the age of a flower plays a crucial role in its pressability. Younger blooms are more suitable for pressing as they are easier to flatten and have less pollen buildup. On the other hand, older blooms are thicker in the middle, making them harder to press. Picking flowers when they have just opened is ideal for pressing, as they are at their prime. However, it's important to note that the cone in the middle of the flower cannot be pressed. Additionally, the softer middle of the flower flattens out more easily, while older flowers with a darker outside are harder and more solid.
