In this chapter we go over the discoveries of the Norse Vikings as they island hopped across from Norway and Iceland to Vinland (which is today Newfoundland). The Vikings tried to establish roots, but they were driven off the lands by Natives. We also touch on the emergence of Europe and the spreading of European culture across the European continent. The rise of religious beliefs and the differing branch off groups of Catholicism, how this helped aid, in the renaissance period, the further explorations of the world and the expansions of maps as explorers discovered new lands.
