Forest Escape Storm Plant Damage, Should We Remove or Trim Rooster Spurs, and Purple Hands

We had torrential downpours X3 and strong winds, so a lot of plant damage, as well as limbs down from trees! The roosters have long spurs or sharp spurs, so we needed to decide what to do. The one rooster fell off a roosting bar and hung upside down for a while. That made me realize the spur needed attention. Should we remove the spurs or trim them?
