The Irish Brigade's Fight For Survival At Gettysburg | Retracing History 74
The Irish Brigade are one of the most celebrated union combat units from the American Civil War. But while many know they took part in the Battle of Gettysburg, what they precisely achieved is often treated as an epilogue to earlier exploits in the war. Today we will be walking in the footsteps of the aprox. 500 men left carrying the Emerald flags to The Wheatfield at Gettysburg.
