Country star Cody Johnson kicked off Tuesday night’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The national anthem is an honor to perform but carries enormous pressure. Recent performances by Luke Bryan, Lady A, and Ingrid Andress have faced criticism. Andress who performed the anthem recently didn’t do so well and admitted it was because she was intoxicated during her performance and publicly said she was checking into rehab. With all the wild things going on right now, all eyes were on Cody Johnson as he sang the American’s favorite song. As Johnson sang, he maintained the integrity of the anthem, which got a lot of people on their feet cheering and applauding him. Without further ado, watch Cody Johnson’s moving rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in the video and share your thoughts in the comments!
