Ismail was killed, along with his cameraman Ramy al-Rify, by an Israeli airstrike while reporting from northern Gaza.

The journalists were targeted in a car in Shati refugee camp where they were covering the killing of Hamas’ political leader, Ismail Haniyeh.

Over 106 Palestinian journalists have been killed since October 7, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
