Israeli far-right politicians protest arrest of soldiers suspected of abuse

On Monday, demonstrators, including members of the Israeli Parliament stormed a military base in the Negev Desert in support of soldiers accused of torturing a Palestinian detainee.

The nine Israeli reservists were brought in for questioning on Monday, on suspicion of sexual abuse.

A Palestinian detainee held at the base was taken to hospital with severe injuries that left him unable to walk.
