Mount Vernon Community Schools upgrading security measures following school safety audit

Local law enforcement walked through all of the district’s schools with administrators to address any safety issues they may have. Because of that audit, Mount Vernon Community Schools are now requiring all visitors to buzz in from outside of school buildings. Visitors will also be required to scan their driver’s licenses once inside to check for any issues.
